Previously,
I was teaching a Dance class for preschoolers while I finished up my degree.
I learned so working with these students and it gave me a better perspective on my own self development.
Teaching them opened my eyes on how patience is truly a virtue.
During college I landed a internship at Refinery29!
This company embodied all of my values as a woman and were are promoted! The environment in office is one that inspires you to push and be strong while doing it. Here people are very open to new ideas which gives a sense of creative freedom! As a intern at Refinery29 I can honestly say my experience was wonderful! As the Video Post-Production Intern, I assisted the production assistants, editors and the head of the department on a daily basis. Some of the projects I have helped with are some of the most viewed, groundbreaking videos in R29 history to date. Something I must say is a honor to be apart of.
At Refinery29 I have learned how to,
-Transcribe interviews to scripts
-Upload files on Youtube, create closed captions and then convert video to SRT/VTT files, those files are then put into a folder to be reviewed for quality check then sent out as a final version.
-Create “Burning Subs” for SnapChat videos
-Create GIFs for clients
-Fill out necessary music cue sheets for video legal clearances
-Pick up and drop off necessary hard drives at other media companies
-Talent on screen for Instagram and Snapchat
-Creative writing for Instagram
